INDICATIONS:

Pranz is indicated:

• For gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, reflex esophagitis, prevention of recurrence of gastric ulcer or duodenal ulcer during low-dose aspirin administration, or prevention of recurrence of gastric ulcer or duodenal ulcer during NSAIDs administration.
• As an adjunct to Helicobacter pylori eradication in the following settings: gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, mucosa-associated lympathic tissue (MALT) lymphoma, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, the stomach after endoscopic resection of early stage gastric cancer of Helicobacter pylori gastritis.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Vonoprazan is an orally bioavailable, potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that potently inhibits gastric H⁺/K⁺-ATPase, the final step in gastric acid secretion. Unlike proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), Vonoprazan reversibly and competitively blocks proton pumps without requiring activation in an acidic environment, leading to a faster, stronger, and longer-lasting suppression of gastric acid. This makes it effective for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy.
