INDICATIONS:
Irbesartan is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure lowers the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular (CV) events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarction.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Irbesartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). Angiotensin’s attachment to the receptors causes the blood vessels to narrow (vasoconstrict), which leads to an increase in blood pressure (hypertension). By blocking the action of angiotensin, Irbesartan dilates blood vessels and reduces blood pressure.
