BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Orpic (Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride) belongs to a group of quinolones (fluoroquinolones) antibiotics. It has broad spectrum antimicrobial activity. It acts via inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase, which is essential in the reproduction of bacterial DNA, ultimately resulting in interference with DNA function, highly active against gram positive, gram negative organisms and has shown activity against some anaerobes.
