THERAPEUTIC SEGMENT:

INDICATIONS:
It is indicated for the treatment of the following.
(a) Acute duodenal ulcer.
(b) Acute benign gastric ulcer.
(c) Symptomatic Erosive or Ulcerative Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).
(d) Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease Long-term Management.
(e) Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome.
(f) For the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcer disease in combination with appropriate antibacterial therapeutic regimen.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Promto (Rabeprazole Sodium), a substituted benzimidazole, is a proton pump inhibitor that inhibits gastric acid secretion. It belongs to a new class of antisecretory compound (substituted benzimidazole proton-pump inhibitor) that does not exhibit anticholinergic or histamine H2 – receptor antagonist properties, but suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the gastric H+/K+ ATPase at the parietal cell.
