INDICATIONS:

Scinoxa (Enoxaparin Sodium) is indicated for:

• Prophylaxis of thromboembolic disorders (deep vein thrombosis) in patients undergoing:

orthopedic surgery of the hip or knee, high risk abdominal, gynecological, or urological

surgeries and colorectal surgery.

• Prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in medical patients who are at moderate risk

of DVT and who are bedridden due to moderate to severe acute cardiac insufficiency.

• Prevention of thrombus formation in the extra-corporeal circulation during hemodialysis
• Treatment of deep vein thrombosis, with or without pulmonary embolism,unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction, concurrently with ASA and acute ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI).

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Enoxaparin is a low molecular weight heparin which has antithrombotic properties. Enoxaparin exerts its anticoagulant effect by preventing the formation of blood clots through binding to antithrombin, a naturally occurring coagulation inhibitor and potentiating its action.
